Getting around the farm, hiking, trail running, cycling and self-drive.

During your stay with us the entire farm is open for you to explore, you’re here to get out into the bush after all! Feel free to bring the tekkies and go for a run, walk or hike along any of the roads or paths you come across or, if you feel like a little less physical exertion, take yourself for a drive along the farm highway. Please note that we recommend a raised body vehicle for this.

Wildlife on the farm
There is plenty of free roaming wildlife that you’ll likely encounter during your stay. Kudu, mountain rhebok, impala, bushbuck, waterbuck, duiker and steenbok all call the farm home. Another character you may well bump into is good ‘ol Pumba, the warthog. More rarely seen are the shy and nocturnal animals, aardvark, aardwolf and bat eared fox, maybe you’ll get lucky and spot one!
Of course, monkeys and baboons are plentiful although not a nuisance to humans as they are in most game reserve camp sites.
Please note that the wildlife here is not a threat to you and you’ll be perfectly fine on any encounters with them.

The farm is also great for bird watching with a wide variety of habitats we have recorded over 220 species on the 1,500ha farm. Some of our specials that you may spot include the beautiful crowned eagle that can often be seen and heard from the comfort of your cabin, narina trogon and white starred robin can be found in the kloofs on the mountain slope.
